MISSION
The Mission of Preserve Historic Forsyth

The overall mission of Preserve Historic Forsyth is to promote, protect, and advocate for historic resources in Forsyth County. Translating this broad objective is a daily effort involving an attention to many day-to-day activities throughout our communities.
Clearly we have an interest in the actions of local governments as they make important decisions about the direction and management of hometowns.
Even dedicated public servants often have to make difficult compromises in managing and developing the future of our communities. A county-wide voice on matters concerning historic preservation is both a desirable and necessary contribution to important community decisions.
On a more personal level, we work to provide a voice for leadership and practical assistance to our many citizens with an interest in historic preservation -- of their homes as well as their communities:
We are developing a repository of material about proper preservation techniques and resources and the opportunities for favorable tax treatment of historic preservation efforts.
We maintain an awareness of the many historic structures in our area and the opportunities for their restoration.
We offer advice and suggestions for the preservation and protection of individual properties.
We are developing presentations and workshops to educate homeowners and the interested public about historic preservation and its techniques.
We believe that all residents of Forsyth want the best possible future for our county, join Preserve Historic Forsyth in making a better future for today and tomorrow.
