About Preserve Historic Forsyth Preserve Historic Forsyth Inc. is a non-profit membership organization. It is dedicated to supporting the preservation of architectural, community, artifacts and natural heritage of Forsyth County.  It receives no governmental funding and  is entirely supported by its membership and donors. It was organized to provide a "citizen voice" for the critical decisions that are made concerning the heritage resources of our Forsyth communities. Heritage preservation is often threatened by seemingly unrelated decisions, but which can have irreversible effects on the important history we save for ourselves and leave to our children. Equally critical, lost preservation opportunities are usually irreversible. Expedient choices made today can damage our communities forever. Oftentimes, preservation in a community is the victim of a series of small decisions that only in retrospect are understood as damaging to our overall quality of life. And, effective preservation is not just about saving important buildings and great homes. Saving small homes and small details can be even more difficult, since their intrinsic value may seem less obvious and less worthy of protection. We live in an area that is attractive to both new businesses and new residents. With this new growth comes the responsibility to protect the community assets that first attracted our newcomers to our home towns. We are fortunate to have a number of strong and committed neighborhood associations that work hard to maintain and protect their neighborhoods. Preserve Historic Forsyth is dedicated to providing this same commitment and protection to all our neighborhoods and cities.
